Safety & Client Care

Creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive space for every journey.

Your wellbeing is at the heart of everything I offer.

Whether you're joining a breathwork session, participating in ceremony, or exploring the educational resources shared through The Hedge & Wildflower, my intention is to create an environment where you feel respected, informed, and supported.

Every person arrives with their own experiences, comfort levels, and intentions. You are always encouraged to honour your own needs, move at your own pace, and make choices that feel right for you.

Your body.
Your breath.
Your journey.
Your choice.

Creating a Safe & Supportive Space

Your comfort, safety, and wellbeing are always my highest priorities.

Every person arrives with a unique story, different life experiences, and individual needs. Whether you're joining a breathwork session or participating in ceremony, you are always encouraged to move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

There is never any expectation to push beyond your personal boundaries. You are welcome to pause, modify your participation, or simply observe if that feels right for you. Your experience is your own, and you remain in control throughout every session.

My role is to create a calm, compassionate, and respectful environment where you feel informed, supported, and empowered to make the choices that are right for you.

I believe that meaningful transformation begins with trust, and trust begins with creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and respected.

Guiding Principles

๐Ÿ’š Choice

You are always free to participate in the way that feels right for you.

๐Ÿค Respect

Every person's journey is unique and will always be honoured without judgment.

๐ŸŒฟ Compassion

You will be met with kindness, patience, and understanding throughout your experience.

๐ŸŒธ Presence

There is no pressure to achieve a particular outcome. Simply arriving as you are is enough.

Breathwork Safety Considerations

Your safety always comes first.

Conscious connected breathwork can be a deeply supportive and transformative practice. Because it involves intentional changes in breathing patterns, it may not be suitable for everyone.

If any of the following apply to you, please speak with your healthcare provider before participating, and let me know before your session.

Together, we can determine whether breathwork is appropriate or whether modifications may be needed.

Please let me know if you have:

โค๏ธ High blood pressure or cardiovascular disease

๐Ÿซ€ A history of heart attack, stroke, or aneurysm

๐Ÿง  Epilepsy or a seizure disorder

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Glaucoma or a detached retina

๐Ÿฆด Osteoporosis

๐Ÿคฐ Pregnancy

๐Ÿซ Any serious respiratory condition

๐Ÿง  A recent major surgery or significant physical injury

๐Ÿ’™ Any medical condition that may be affected by deep, connected breathing

Trauma-Informed Care

I believe that you are the expert on your own body.

You are always welcome to slow down, pause, or stop at any time during a session. Participation is always your choice, and I will never ask you to push beyond what feels safe or supportive for you.

Every session is offered through a trauma-informed, client-centred approach that honours your comfort, your boundaries, and your unique experience

Before Your Session

To help you have the best possible experience, I encourage you to:

  • Eat a light meal 1–2 hours before your session.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to breathe freely.
  • Have water, a blanket, and tissues nearby.
  • Choose a quiet, comfortable space where you won't be interrupted.
  • Arrive with curiosity rather than expectations.

Preparing for Your Session

A little preparation can help you feel more comfortable and supported.

Whether you're joining a breathwork session or participating in ceremony, taking a few moments to prepare can help you settle in and get the most from your experience.

There is nothing you need to "achieve." Simply arrive with an open mind, a willingness to be present, and permission to honour your own needs throughout the experience.

Before You Arrive

๐Ÿ’ง Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water throughout the day and bring a bottle of water with you if attending in person.

๐ŸŽ Eat Lightly

Enjoy a light meal one to two hours before your session. Avoid arriving overly full or on an empty stomach.

๐Ÿ‘• Dress Comfortably

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move and breathe with ease.

๐Ÿงบ Bring What Helps You Feel Comfortable

For in-person sessions, you may wish to bring:

  • A blanket
  • A pillow or cushion
  • Water bottle
  • Journal and pen
  • Eye mask (optional)

For online sessions, choose a quiet, comfortable space where you can relax without interruption.

๐Ÿ’š Let Go of Expectations

Every experience is unique.

Some sessions feel deeply calming, while others may bring insight, emotion, or simply an opportunity to rest. There is no right or wrong experience—only your own.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Creating a space of trust, respect, and confidentiality.

Feeling safe means knowing that your personal experiences will be treated with care and respect.

Whether we're meeting for breathwork, participating in ceremony, or discussing your questions before a session, I am committed to creating an environment where your privacy is honoured.

What you choose to share is always your decision, and I will treat your personal information and conversations with professionalism and discretion.

What You Can Expect

๐Ÿค Confidential Conversations

Your personal experiences and discussions will remain confidential, except where disclosure is required by law or where there is an immediate concern for your safety or the safety of others.

๐ŸŒฟ Respect for Your Journey

There is no expectation to share more than you feel comfortable sharing.

You are always welcome to participate at a level that feels right for you.

๐Ÿ“ Your Information

Any forms or information you provide will be handled responsibly and used only for the purpose of supporting your participation and ensuring your safety.

๐Ÿ’š A Space Without Judgment

You will always be met with kindness, compassion, and respect, regardless of where you are on your journey.

Questions Before You Begin?

I'm here to help you make an informed decision.

Choosing to participate in breathwork or ceremony is a personal decision, and it's natural to have questions before taking that first step.

If you're unsure whether a session is right for you, have questions about accessibility, medical considerations, or simply want to learn more about what to expect, I'd be happy to connect with you.

There is never any pressure or obligation. My goal is simply to help you feel informed, comfortable, and supported in making the choice that feels right for you.

I look forward to hearing from you whenever you're ready.

Warmly,

Tammy Colquhoun
Keeper of the Hedge
